Thawing & Storage

All products shipped frozen with dry ice, which might have evaporated during shipment. It is a normal process, and as long as your items are refrigerator cold - about 40°F - they may be refrozen. Seafood and Chicken should not be refrozen. Instead, store in the refrigerator and enjoy them within 2-4 days. Please avoid touching dry ice with bare hands. When storing fresh proteins, keep them in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Use a thermometer to make sure your home refrigerator is operating at 30 -40°F or lower.

Seafood

Our fresh frozen Seafood will be enjoyable for up to three months when stored in a standard freezer and up to six months when stored in a deep freezer.

Step by step thaw method for fully frozen seafood - 1) Remove from sealed bags while still frozen. 2) Place on a plate or in a pan and cover with plastic wrap. 3) Product must be kept at a temperature of 4 degrees C or below. 4) Thaw for 24 to 36 hours prior to preparing. 5) It is extremely important to remove product from the sealed bag as that will eliminate the growth of bacteria.
      Quick Thaw Method - Submerge sealed bags in a container of cold water for 30-60 minutes until thawed throughout. Replace water as needed during the process.

        Never defrost fish at room temperature. Never defrost fish in warm or hot water.

        Lobster Tails, Crab Legs*, Mussels

        Our fresh frozen Lobster Tails, King Crab and Mussels will be enjoyable for up to three months when stored in a standard freezer and up to six months when stored in a deep freezer.  

        Step by step thaw method if fully frozen - 1) Place product on the plate. 2) Cover with plastic wrap. 3) Place back in refrigerator for 24 - 36 hours before cooking. 

        Quick thaw method — Submerge in a container of cold water for 30-60 minutes until thawed throughout. It’s important that your proteins are thawed completely, otherwise the meat inside will not cook fully.
        * Do not thaw crab legs in water if at all possible

        Meats

        All our steaks have been carefully frozen at the peak of freshness to ensure optimal flavors upon preparing. Steaks may be stored in a standard freezer for up to 12 months, but are best enjoyed within the first three months of receiving.

         You want to make sure you thaw slowly in the thawing process because the muscle can absorb some of that water and make your proteins juicy and flavorful. The key to the ultimate quality on your plate, thawing slowly. 

        For larger proteins, it is recommended to leave proteins for a longer time in the refrigerator. Brisket, Ham, and bone-in steaks such as Tomahawk, Cowboy cut, Bone-in Filet can take up to 48 hours to thaw.

        Step by step thaw method if fully frozen - 1) Remove steaks from their sealed bags. 2) Place on the plate. 3) Cover with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for 24 to 36 hours. 

        Desserts

        Strip House Chocolate Cake - Baked to order and ships frozen. Cake may be stored in a standard freezer for up to 3 months and once thawed for up to 3 days.

         Step by step thaw method if fully frozen - 1) Remove plastic wrap. 2) Place in refrigerator and thaw overnight. 3) Remove from refrigeration on day of consumption and bring to room temperature, around 30 minutes. 4) Keep thawed cake covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days. 

        Bread

        All our breads are ship frozen. For best results, place in refrigerator and thaw overnight. Bread may also be thawed at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours. Ambient shelf life is 5 days.
