Deep Fried Shrimp

How to prepare Fried Shrimp 

Difficulty Level:    

Yield: Two Servings


10 each Shrimp (21/25 Count Tail On)

1 cup of All Purpose Flour

1 tsp. Garlic Powder

1/2 tsp. Onion Powder

1/2 tsp. White Pepper

1/2 tsp. Cayenne Pepper

 1 tsp. Paprika

1/2 tsp. Iodized Salt

2 eggs

Splash of Whole Milk

How to prepare Seasoned Flour 

  1. Place All Purpose Flour in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, White Pepper, Paprika and Iodized salt and mix well together.
  3. Set aside.

How to prepare Egg Wash 

  1. In a mixing bowl combine Eggs and Milk together.
  2. Whisk together until thoroughly combined.
  3. Set Aside.

How to prepare Fried Shrimp 

  1. Dust the Shrimp in Seasoned Flour and shake off excess.
  2. Dip into Egg Wash, holding each Shrimp by the tail. (Do not wet the last section of the tail)
  3. Allow excess to drain off.
  4. Dust in Seasoned Flower once again.
  5. Shake off the excess flour.
  6. Deep fry until golden and fully cooked. (Approximately 3 - 3 1/2 minutes)
  7. Transfer to catch pan to drain excess oil.

Quick Tip: If you don't have a deep fryer handy, you can add frying oil (canola oil, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil)  to a deep pot. Fill it half full. Preheat the oil to a cooking temperature and carefully drop coated Shrimp right into your pot. Let them cook until golden brown and remove with a scoop.

Fried Shrimp pair perfectly with Tartar Sauce or Cocktail Sauce.
